Spring 2024

Welcome to "Through Our Eyes," an innovative theater program designed to empower youth aged 12-17 by harnessing the transformative power of their own personal experiences. In this dynamic 7-month journey, participants will not only create a compelling theatrical performance but also embark on a profound exploration of their individual stories.

The program operates on a weekly basis, encouraging youth to contribute journals, poems, songs, skits, and various forms of art that capture the essence of their experiences. The diversity of these contributions becomes the building blocks for a unique and powerful theatrical experience that vividly reflects their lives "through their eyes."

Behind every piece of art lies a personal story, and at "Through Our Eyes," we recognize the significance of both struggles and triumphs. By providing a platform for youth to express themselves through creative outlets, we aim to facilitate coping mechanisms that enable them not only to navigate adversity but to thrive in a positive and empowering manner.

Over the course of seven months, participants will undergo a comprehensive creation process, engaging in rehearsals and staging to refine their collective narrative. The program's culmination will be a series of performances for the community and schools, providing a platform for these remarkable youth to showcase their talents, resilience, and unique perspectives.

"Through Our Eyes" is not just a theater program; it's a transformative journey that empowers youth to find their voice, build connections, and share their stories with the world. Join us in fostering creativity, resilience, and positive growth in the next generation – because every story deserves to be told, and every youth deserves to be heard.
